The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

Established in 2000, the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is home to 14 multicultural and interest-based fraternities and sororities. The MGC is the fastest growing council at UNC-Chapel Hill, welcoming three new organizations in the past year alone. MGC organizations host a variety of social, service, and educational programs throughout the year. The council's programs aim to serve Carolina and the surrounding community, while educating them about the ideals of multiculturalism.

MGC Purpose Statement

As culturally diverse organizations unified under the leadership of the Multicultural Greek Council, it is our mission to serve the entire student body through our efforts to improve campus life by fostering collaboration among and within all of the member chapters. By building interaction between diverse groups, the Multicultural Greek Council hopes that its members collaborate effectively and learn to appreciate people whose race, sexual identity, gender, gender expression, religion, ethnicity, and interests may be different from their own. It is also the goal of the Multicultural Greek Council to develop programs that will be beneficial to the community of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
